Adult Education with Rabbi Neal!

ADULT EDUCATION BEGAN will continue every Wednesday night in the Social Hall from 7 to 9 pm, with Rabbi Neal.

7:00 to 7:30 Making Sense out of Services

Each week we will spend the first part of our time together exploring and unpacking a piece of the liturgy; what it’s about, where it goes, where it comes from, what it means, and if it’s something we sing, we’ll learn the tune(s).

7:30 to 9:00 Question Everything

Each week we will delve into essential and challenging questions about Judaism and Jewish life. Nothing is off the table. Bring your questions and Rabbi Neal will bring his – for a wide-ranging exploration of topics including: What does Judaism say about an afterlife? What is keeping kosher all about and why would a modern, rational person have any interest in it? Can you be Jewish without believing in God? Do denominations matter? What is this Talmud thing I keep hearing about? Who cares about Israel?

Participate as a series, or one week at a time as free-standing sessions. Appropriate for all levels of Jewish knowledge and involvement (including for those who are exploring or becoming Jewish).
