Temple Update
Dear Temple Members,
Temple B’nai Jeshurun and other religious institutions in all of Iowa’s 99 counties are now permitted to hold worship services. However, the Iowa Dept of Public Health and the CDC recommend that social gatherings should stay under 10 people.
In addition, in Polk County, all other restrictions regarding retail locations, restaurants, etc. remain in effect. At TBJ we respect the decision that recognizes the importance of religious services, however we also respect the guidelines to keep gatherings under 10 people, as well as our responsibility to protect our neighbors.
Therefore, in order to help protect the health of our members and staff we will continue with carrying services by Zoom and Facebook. It’s tempting to say that this was not an easy decision, however in all honesty the welfare of our congregants made this pretty clear cut. While we eagerly await the return of attending services in person, your health and well-being will continue to be our primary concern.
We will reevaluate this decision on an on-going basis and will let you know as soon as we determine it is safe to return to in-person services. Thanks so much for your understanding. Please be safe and be well.
Bill Grund
