As you leave the Temple on Rosh Hashanah, you will be given a grocery sack; please use it to bring back non-perishable food items for the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s Food Pantry, on or before Yom Kippur.

A monetary donation goes the furthest but if you’d like to bring food items, the most needed items are:

  • Diapers*
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Baby Wipes
  • Non-meat Proteins (tofu, nuts, etc)
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Soup
*TIP: Look for items with low sugar, fat, and salt *TIP: Larger sizes of diapers are needed the most
