Beit Sefer Shalom & Gan Shalom Preschool

Beit Sefer Shalom is our community religious school. Pre-K through Second Grade attend on Sundays. Beginning in Third Grade, students attend Wednesday and Sunday. The high school program meets one day a week, usually on Wednesday. Beit Sefer Shalom provides high‑quality Jewish education for children from Pre‑Kindergarten (ages 2+) through 12th grade, supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. Our school offers a safe and nurturing environment where students build a strong Jewish identity, and families are invited to engage in meaningful Jewish learning together.

We proudly welcome students and families from across the Jewish spectrum—Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Lubavitch, Reconstructionist, affiliated and unaffiliated—who come together around shared values and community. Supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines, Beit Sefer Shalom offers a unified educational approach that honors our differences, emphasizes connection to the larger Jewish community, and centers learning around the core values that unite the Jewish people. Gan Shalom Preschool offers children and their families a joyful opportunity to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning—both academically and spiritually. Our child‑centered approach draws from the very best early childhood education philosophies and is grounded in Jewish values that guide curiosity, kindness, and community.

As a community‑inspired preschool, Gan Shalom provides age‑appropriate, engaging curriculum experiences that support each child’s growth. Enrichment activities further enhance learning, while giving students meaningful opportunities to explore, create, and thrive. Click here to schedule a tour.
