The Torah teaches us that the holiest acts done any acts done purely and without obligation are done with nediv lev. TBJ knows every member of our community has a strength they can contribute. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you!
Below are some of the current opportunities available. This list is not exhaustive, and we welcome new ideas and ways to get involved.
Opportunities with No Long‑Term Commitment
- Assisting with Archives
- Delivering food pantry items
- Driving congregants to appointments
- Helping with mailings or office projects such as laminating or clerical work
- Holiday Preparation
- Program/Event help (one-time)
- Service Greeters
- Social Action
- Visiting members who are homebound, in the hospital, or a care facility
Opportunities That May Require a Longer‑Term Commitment
- Adult/Continuing Education teacher (topics can vary and do not need to be Jewish‑focused—just something you feel the congregation would enjoy)
- We are currently looking for a Yiddish teacher!
- Emanuel Cemetery (record review and organization)
- Gardening
- Programming and Event planning
- Worship Committee
- Youth Events & Activities (you do not need to commit to being a youth group leader!)
